To celebrate ten years of operation of the DkIT wind turbine, the Centre for Renewable Energy’s Ray Byrne will be giving a talk on the experiences and history of the turbine project in Dundalk. Ray will be showing how the campus looked before and after the turbine was installed as well as detailing how the turbine has influenced the Institute, the town and the region in general. The impact of wind energy in the national context has changed a lot since 2005 and the wind industry has grown hugely, and this talk is an opportunity for members of the public to ask questions and hear about our turbine.
The talk will be held in the Muirhevna Building to the right on entering the main campus gate, at 7pm on Tuesday the 17th of November. Light refreshments will be available, and weather permitting, a tour into the turbine will happen after the talk.
